Wednesday 23 March
Demonstrate for fair development!

*No demolition without permission
*No removal of green spaces, play areas, community facilities
*No unsafe rooftop development

Wednesday 23 March 2022
Assemble: 5:30pm outside Hotel H10, Waterloo
March starts: 6pm
Arrive Tooley Street: 6:40pm
March from outside Hotel H10 (Waterloo Rd, SE1 8RQ)
To Southwark Council Assembly (160 Tooley Street SE1 2QH)
Southwark Council is not listening to the tenants and residents of local estates on the strategy of ‘infill’. We want new council homes, but any redevelopment on estates should be appropriate, fair and democratically planned with the active involvement of estate residents. We are in favour of homes for people, not for profit.
#WhoseEstates

We have forced the Council to sit up and take notice. Some campaigns have already prevented redevelopment on their estates. This has happened at Priory Court and Brenchley Gardens. Other powerful campaigns have grown up to challenge unfair redevelopment at Dodson and Amigo, Bells Gardens, Kingston, Southampton Way and Elim estates.

Public Meeting
Thursday 7th April - Online

7pm
“How our estates are fighting for fair redevelopment”

A chance to contribute and learn from estate campaigners about how we have pushed the council back.

With speakers from Dodson and Amigo estate, Vauban estate and others.

“Reach out to fellow residents, share ideas and experiences, develop productive opposition tools and turn frustration into positive action. Show Southwark Council that you have a voice; make sure they listen.” Emma and Kath, Vauban estate group

“Fighting for our homes on our own was the most daunting experience. Then Yes to Fair Redevelopment came along and helped us. We went on to win round one with Southwark Council” Jacquie, Dodson & Amigo independent tenants’ group

Yes To Fair Redevelopment COP26 Southwark meeting point

Time: 12pm

Date:Saturday 6th November 2021
Location:Southwark Gateway Needle @ London Bridge
1 Tooley Street, SE1 2PF

We will be meeting at London Bridge and walking up to the Bank of England where the COP26 Coalition march will start.

Yes to Fair Redevelopment is fighting to keep our estate green spaces and trees. This is crucial in a time of climate emergency.

We need to increase our green spaces and plant millions of trees if we have any chance of taking enough CO2 out of the atmosphere to reduce global heating and stop the killing of the earth.

We support the COP26 Coalition and we want to show our support by arriving on the demonstration together. Anyone from Southwark who agrees is welcome to join us.

🚨🚨🚨THIS PROTEST HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED following notification that the item, Slippers Place is deferred from the meeting on 20th October, and the Councillors will be conducting a site visit in October. These changes are entirely due to the residents' campaign at Slippers Place, which we have been supporting.

👏👏👏Well done!

🤨We do know, of course that the Council may try to get this item through planning committee prior to 6th December, however 6th December is the current published date for Planning Subcommittee B. Please watch this space!
